Bio
Dr. Pierre Arty is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. With his broad knowledge base, he is able to provide expertise in the field of psychopharmacology to address issues such as Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Psychosis. He currently holds the position of Clinical Medical Director of Behavioral Health and Community Services at St. Vincent’s Services, where he provides psychopharmacological treatment for adults, children, and those with Chemical Dependency.
In order to participate fully in the dialogue involved with medical care, he attended Columbia College of Columbia University, where he graduated in 1984 after completing a Pre-Medical concentration in Political Science. He graduated from S.U.N.Y. Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn in 1990. After completing an Internal Medicine Residency at Kings County Hospital, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he pursued a Fellowship in Addictive Medicine, followed by a residency in Psychiatry at the same institution. He held the position of Director of the Kings County Addictive Disease Services from 2003-2004 and subsequently took on the position of Deputy Executive Director of Kings County Hospital’s Behavioral Health Department from 2004-2008.
