Bio

When I was growing up, I helped care for family members who had chronic illnesses, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. This inspired me to become a primary care doctor. I wanted to care for patients throughout their lives and advocate for them.

I manage chronic illnesses, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes, and some urgent medical conditions. I also recommend screening tests for breast and colon cancer.

No matter what condition I treat, I always try to help patients make lifestyle changes to manage their disease. For example, I encourage them to eat healthfully and exercise. This may not only improve their health condition, but it may also help them to manage stress and control pain. It is important for me to understand a patient’s daily activities to ensure my recommendations are feasible.

In addition to primary care, I offer weight management expertise. After completing an Internal Medicine Residency, I completed an Obesity Medicine Fellowship here at NYU Langone. I am board-certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Many doctors refer their patients to me to help them lose weight. This can improve mobility and help prevent or manage weight-related illnesses, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, and sleep apnea.
