Bio
Dr. Frederick Banks, Jr. is a native of Minden, LA. He graduated as valedictorian of his high school class at Doyline High School.
He attended Louisiana State University Shreveport for his undergraduate education on a full academic scholarship.
At LSUS, he was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and was a member of the Tri-Beta Honor Society, Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS), and the Pre-Dental Society. He graduated from LSUS with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, TN. During dental school, he was a member of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) and Student National Dental Association (SNDA) and participated in several volunteer experiences where he provided free
dental care to underserved communities. He provided free dental care during several events, such as Hope Smiles, Ram, Meharry Salt Wagon Clinic (free after-hours clinic for the underserved), and Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry Annual Oral Health Day.
