Francisca Ada Ifesinachukwu, MD, known affectionately by her patients as Dr. Ada, is an adult and child psychiatrist at Summit Mental Health Clinic in Austin, Texas. Dr. Ada has been a board certified psychiatrist for more than 28 years and opened Summit Mental Health Clinic in May of 2004, and she has worked for six of those years in the Austin area.
Dr. Ada received her general and adult psychiatry training at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas, and her child and adolescent psychiatry training at Scott and White Memorial Hospital, Temple/Texas A&M University Health Science Center. After she completed her training, Dr. Ada worked with a group practice in Austin before starting Summit Mental Health Clinic in August 2004.
Dr. Ada employs the DSM-V criteria and tailors it to fit each individual’s needs. As a member of the American Psychiatric Association and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Ada has access to the latest, most recent journal publications to keep treatments up-to-date. She is also a member of the Texas Association of Psychiatric Physicians, the Texas Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Black Psychiatrists of America.
