Originally from a small town in Mississippi, Dr. Andrea J. Washington earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology / Pre-Medicine from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. After completion of her undergraduate studies, she attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis School of Optometry where she received her Optometry Degree (O.D.).
After successfully completing optometry school, she completed an optional one year residency in Family Practice at the University of Houston College of Optometry. During her residency, she rotated through numerous clinics, including, primary care, glaucoma, retina, neuro-ophthalmology, cornea and contact lens, pediatrics and low vision.
In her optometric career, Dr. Andrea J. Washington has participated in numerous volunteer functions and has received numerous awards and honors.
Dr. Andrea J. Washington is a member of various optometric organizations which include, but are not limited to the American Optometric Association (AOA), American Optometric Association’s Cornea and Contact Lens Section, Georgia Optometric Association (GOA), & National Optometric Association (NOA).
