Craig Chike Akoh MD is a dual fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in both sports medicine and foot & ankle. His orthopaedic training has provided him a unique ability to perform a multitude of procedures in the hip, knee, ankle, and foot. He provides state-of-the-art ankle replacement, bunion surgery, Achilles tendon repair, ankle arthroscopy, knee cartilage restoration/ ligament reconstruction, and postless hip arthroscopy/ hip preservation procedures. He has a strong research background in the latest sports medicine and foot & ankle treatment techniques. He also has a strong background in the management of non-elite and elite athletes in the collegiate and high school level.
Dr. Akoh grew up in Athens, Georgia and was competitive in basketball as well as track and field in his formable years. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia. He subsequently completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Iowa. Dr. Akoh completed his sports medicine fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, where he served as a team physician for the Wisconsin Badger football and basketball teams. Dr. Akoh completed his foot & ankle fellowship at Duke University.
