Bio
Dr. Anisa Ssengoba-Ubogu is a family medicine physician with over 20 years of experience. She was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She received her undergraduate degree from Xavier University of Louisiana with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. She graduated Cum Laude with Honors in English and History. She received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH and completed her family medicine residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Dr. Ssengoba-Ubogu is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Her clinical interests include preventive care, chronic disease management, and improving healthcare disparities. She has particular expertise in treating diabetes, high blood pressure, anxiety/depression, weight management, and other common chronic conditions. In her free time, Dr. Ssengoba-Ubogu enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and attending cultural events. She is an African dancer and highly involved in the African/Caribbean community in the area. She is currently a board member of Central Alabama Caribbean American Organization.
