Bio
Dr. Sumler is a native of Virginia. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. She completed medical school and residency at Virginia Commonwealth University and completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Sumler has been on faculty at Emory University School of Medicine for 11 years and serves as the Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Department of Anesthesiology where she is also an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology.
