Dr. Ehanire's appreciation for the human form and three-dimensional art began in her home country of Nigeria, where her family belongs to a centuries-old artisanal guild of bronze casters. They created the renowned Benin Bronzes of the Benin Kingdom in southern Nigeria, now found in museums all over the world.
Dr. Ehanire attributes her naturally artistic eye to this heritage, as these bronze figures, busts, and masks were an everyday influence on her identity and upbringing. Dr. Ehanire’s plastic surgery practice allows her to draw connections between her family’s craft and her creation of natural-looking results that restore the form and function of the breast and body.
