Bio
Winston J Scott, MD is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Cataract Refractive Surgery, New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology, and the National Medical Association.
Dr. Scott grew up in Kingston, Jamaica and the Bronx, New York. He received a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. He then attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey where he received his medical degree. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Rutgers University Hospital in Newark, NJ.
Dr. Scott is a highly reputable and respected comprehensive ophthalmologist in the community for over 30 years. He is a skilled cataract surgeon who prioritizes providing the highest level of quality eyecare.
He is the Chief of Ophthalmology at Carewell Health Medical Center (formerly East Orange General Hospital). Dr. Scott is a founding member and current President of the Caribbean Medical Mission, a medical group providing humanitarian medical care to the Caribbean and Ghana for over 20 years. He is a former Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
Dr. Winston Scott has been married to his wife, Sonia, for over 40 years. They have three grown and successful children and one grandson.
